Your presence matters
more than taught technique,
meet your partner here, now,
like Tai Chi Taoist
make each movement slow.
Say hello to their back
with long strokes, effleurage,
touch palms down and glide
from neck to sacrum
but side step the spine.
Remember your breathing
keep your body soft,
sequence doesn’t matter
listening is what counts,
follow hands and heart.
While Swedish holds mere five
methods, means to relieve,
in each modality
intention is crux
it is with every touch.
